Saône Plaisance is a small, family-run business: Monique, Stéphane and the whole team welcome you at every step, from your first phone call to your return to port. Cruise without a licence between Savoyeux and Louhans, along two rivers with very different characters: the Saône and the Seille.

Our family story
The Saône Plaisance spirit

A family business, not a call centre

Our competitors run fleets of fifty boats or more in constant rotation. At Saône Plaisance, we keep it to around twenty — each one chosen, maintained and known inside out by the whole team. It’s this small scale that lets us answer every one of your questions personally, before, during and after your cruise.

Monique, who leads Saône Plaisance, her children including Stéphane, and the whole team at the Savoyeux marina take pride in welcoming every customer — whether a private guest or a partner travel agency — like family. That closeness is what has built Saône Plaisance’s reputation for over 30 years.

Our departure bases

Two rivers, two atmospheres to explore

Our two bases aren’t on the same river. Savoyeux opens onto the “petite Saône,” Louhans onto the Seille: two very different faces of river cruising, to choose from depending on the mood you’re after.

Main base · Petite Saône
Savoyeux (Haute-Saône, 70)

Port de Savoyeux, B.P. 5, 70130 Seveux — on the petite Saône, between Gray and Verdun-sur-le-Doubs. This stretch offers ideal cruising conditions: a stable water level, few locks, and an unspoiled setting away from the heavier traffic of the wide-gauge Saône. This is where the whole Saône Plaisance team welcomes you on departure day: boat handover, hands-on briefing, route advice and logbook.

2nd base · Seille
Louhans (71, Saône-et-Loire)

A second departure point on the Seille, between Louhans and La Truchère, in the heart of Burgundy’s Bresse region. A river with light traffic, in a wilder, more rural setting — ideal for those seeking calm and a real change of scenery.

Our fleet & our rates

Carefully chosen boats, not a faceless fleet

Every Saône Plaisance boat is individually maintained by our own boatyard. Seasonal rates, options (bikes, towel pack, one-way trips…) and terms (deposit, cleaning) are all detailed on our prices page.

Almost anywhere, except a few restricted areas marked on your river map: a proper marina or out in nature — the choice is yours.
